Blood bag and blood plasma labels have been designed for blood donation centres in compliance with the ISBT standard in accordance with the Directive 2002/98/WE. Special labels with a non-migrating adhesive hold the ISO 3826 certificate, issued by ISEGA research centre, for labelling blood and blood plasma bags. The adhesive is also compliant with the European food directives of German recommendations XIV released by Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung. Labels are resistant to water, oils, chemical substances, high and low temperature, and they can be applied to frozen surfaces, e.g., frozen blood plasma bags. They guarantee legibility of printed bar codes even after many years of storage. Identification labels for blood and blood plasma bags are a part of the etiCALLS laboratory system.
