Membrane panels, also called membrane or foil keyboards, are an indispensable element of modern electronic devices and machines. They are used mainly as operator panels for diverse types of consumer electronics. Membrane panels consist of several layers, they are thin and, at the same time, exceptionally durable. The top layer is usually made of transparent polycarbonate film which ensures high resistance to repeated pressure. On the other layers there are conductive paths with contact points thanks to which control is possible. Panels are made in any shape, colour, they can be matte or glossy with various accessories. They can be completely flat or embossed, and with embossing in the place of buttons. Panels are most frequently produced with a special adhesive layer on the underside for permanent connection with the casing of the device.

In membrane panels printed contact points detecting finger touch are used instead of metal contactors. This translates directly into a reduced price of the panel, and at the same time, lower cost of production of the whole device. Depending on customer requirements and the type of manufactured device, panels may contain a special adhesive layer below that facilitates its assembly.
Membrane panels for appliance control are made of several layers. The top layer is usually made of polyester or polycarbonate film that guarantee resistance to repeated pressure. Keyboard pattern printing, embossing, transparent windows for LEDs or screens are made on the underside of the sheet. Thanks to that the whole panel is protected against any external factors. This is significant in the case of appliances operating outdoors and exposed to sunlight. On the other layers there are conductive paths with contact points thanks to which it is possible to control the appliance. Bottom adhesive layer is used to permanently connect the membrane panel with the housing of the device. Membrane operator panel is an aesthetic and durable solution for modern machinery and equipment.
