RFID readers

RFID readers are devices that read the data stored in RFID tags and then transmit it to a computer system. When connected to antennas, RFID readers communicate with RFID tags via RF signals, making rapid and contactless identification possible. Selecting the right RFID reader depends on several parameters, including operating frequency, output power, the number of antenna ports, connectivity interfaces, as well as environmental resistance and the operating temperature range. Depending on the device and the specifics of the application, one to several RFID antennas operating at the same frequency can be integrated with a single reader. RFID readers are used for the automatic identification and monitoring of goods, fixed assets, people, or animals, as well as for tracking the direction of their movement. Our product range includes devices from renowned manufacturers such as Nordic ID (Brady), Zebra, and Alien Technology.

  • simultaneous reading of multiple tags,
  • monitoring the direction of object movement,
  • available radio frequency bands: LF / HF / UHF,
  • communication with the host system via USB, Ethernet, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and LTE,
  • can operate in outdoor conditions,
  • possibility to build RFID gates.

RFID readers with integrated antenna

RFID readers integrated with an antenna are two devices configured and enclosed in one housing. Thanks to their compact design, they are a perfect solution for places with limited space.  They perform well in simple systems where a single reading point is sufficient and there is no need to install multiple antennas. Their advantage is easy installation and configuration – simply mount the RFID reader to the wall or ceiling and connect it to the RFID system. Readers integrated with an RFID antenna are used in access control systems, production monitoring, warehouse management, and commerce. “Pass-through” readers with an RFID antenna installed above entrances/exits collect data about the direction in which people, assets, and inventory are moving.

Fixed RFID readers

Fixed RFID readers are devices permanently installed at particular locations, such as entry gates, production lines, or warehouses. Combined with antennas, they make it possible to automatically read RFID tags within their range. Thanks to the ability to connect multiple external antennas, the system can be flexibly adjusted and configured depending on the specifics of the deployment. Unlike mobile readers, fixed RFID readers operate fully automatically, without any operator. A wide range of available models allows you to select the right solution for both indoor (e.g., in offices and warehouses) and outdoor applications, including harsh industrial environments. Fixed RFID readers in logistics and warehousing are used for automatic registration of goods, inventory tracking, order picking, and shipping. RFID readers on production lines are used to track production components, automatically control production processes, and manage workstations.

Handheld RFID readers

Handheld RFID readers are portable devices that can read RFID tag data anywhere. They provide greater flexibility and independence, serving as an addition to fixed RFID systems. Portable RFID scanners are mainly used for checking inventory, verifying the price of goods, and for quick inventory, both in warehouses and stores. Handheld RFID readers are also used in offices, courts, libraries, and hospitals for quick searching of RFID-tagged assets, including locating case files, collections, and equipment. Mobile RFID readers operate online, transmitting data directly to the system via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or LTE.
