What is RFID system

RFID ( Radio-Frequency Identification) is a technology that uses radio waves to automatically identify objects. It allows you to read and write the data stored on RFID labels/tags without the need for direct contact. RFID allows you to quickly and contactlessly identify objects thanks to radio waves, which streamlines production, logistics and warehouse processes, improves safety and automates many activities.

Applications of RFID systems

RFID systems are used in business in many areas, such as production, trade, warehousing and administration. RFID systems are used to record working time, to limit access to rooms, as anti-theft protection in stores, for RFID inventory or production tracking. The implementation of RFID for product identification is very beneficial for manufacturing companies. The use of RFID technology in logistics enables the management of supply chains and warehouse inventory. In fact, there is no field today where an RFID system would not be applicable. The development of Industry 4.0, based on wireless communication, has contributed to the fact that RFID solutions are now widely used in every business.

What does an RFID system consist of?

An RFID system consists of RFID tags, RFID devices such as RFID printers, RFID readers, RFID antennas, portable RFID terminals,  and software for collecting and processing data. An RFID tag (RFID tag) is a microchip with an antenna that can be attached to any object or product and used as its identifier. The RFID reader communicates with the RFID tag using radio waves, reading the data encoded in the tag. The data can be read from a distance of several dozen centimeters to even several meters. The RFID system allows you to read multiple tags at the same time. To implement RFID, you also need a partner who can advise you on which RFID labels and RFID devices are suitable for your application and design an RFID system for your individual needs.

RFID systems & solutions

Etisoft offers ready-made solutions based on RFID radio technology:

  • RFID system for quick search of documents, court records and land registers. It is a ready-made RFID solution for companies and institutions that archive a large amount of documentation and where it is necessary to locate them quickly.
  • The traceability RFID system for production tracking is a solution tailored to the specifics of the company and the type of marked products. The system monitors all production stages in real time and allows you to create histories of all manufactured products.
  • RFID system for tracking Euro transport containers, storage crates, pallets and returnable packaging such as water cylinders, kegs. The RFID system allows you to monitor the current location of containers used for production, internal transport and manage their movement.
  • An RFID system for employee evacuation is a ready-made solution for multi-branch workplaces, mines and shipyards. The RFID system improves evacuation, increases the level of employee safety and supports rescue operations.
  • RFID system for waste collection management for municipal companies, which allows you to optimize transport costs and increase the transparency of settlements, reduces illegal disposal of waste.

The offered RFID systems use database software to manage all elements of the system. RFID software combines devices such as RFID readers, RFID antennas, RFID terminals and RFID tags as object identifiers into a single system. RFID software has a modular design that allows it to be expanded and tailored to the customer’s needs.

RFID solutions benefits

RFID systems are used in production plants, warehouses, logistics and trade. RFID implementations bring many benefits and savings to businesses – streamlining processes and minimizing errors, just like barcodes. RFID systems, however, have a significant advantage over barcode systems. First of all, they allow more tags to be read and more information to be written at the same time, they are resistant to harsh conditions and can be read without eye contact with the reader. The most important advantages of RFID technology are:

  • the ability to encode RFID labels and simultaneously print text or barcode on the label,
  • simultaneous reading of many labels (up to several hundred tags per second!) – this allows for instant inventory,
  • the ability to modify individual records (you can supplement the encoded information at any time or change it completely),
  • the ability to read a label that is not directly visible (you can deliberately hide it and there will be no problem with reading, you also do not have to worry about setting the object properly for reading),
  • long-range,
  • efficient data transmission,
  • the ability to encrypt and encrypt – thanks to this, only authorized persons have access to data.

Implementation of RFID systems

Etisoft specializes in the design and implementation of RFID systems for manufacturing and commercial enterprises and for state institutions.

Together with Master ID, he integrates RFID systems with the already existing systems in the company. We combine traditional barcode-based solutions with modern RFID radio frequency identification to significantly increase operational efficiency. This gives companies full control over key areas of their infrastructure, speeds up processes and minimizes the risk of errors. Integration with EAM, MES or WMS systems not only extends the capabilities of the RFID system, but also strengthens the operation of the systems with which it cooperates. Automatic data exchange between platforms allows you to use the full potential of your tools.
