In thermal transfer printers, the printing ribbon is a necessary component for label printing. The thermal transfer ribbon must cover the entire width of the printed material (together with liner) to protect the print head surface against excessive abrasive wear.
WARNING!!!
* Always open the cover fully, otherwise the cover may close and injure the user.
* Do not touch the print head; the print head may be hot directly after printing.
* Pay attention to the print head edges to prevent injury.
When the printer casing cover is opened:
* Use the blue button to open the print head arm. For CLP 8301 printers, press the blue button and lift the print head arm upwards.
* Load the printing ribbon roll onto the unwinding roller.
* Mount a cardboard bobbin to the ribbon winder (winding roller).
* Lead the ribbon according to the scheme; remember that the printing side of the ribbon must be in contact with the labels (under the print head).
* Use a spare label to glue the beginning of the printing ribbon to the upside of the cardboard roll on the winding roller.
* In CLP 7200e series printers, the beginning of the printing ribbon should be fixed to the downside, as the winding roller is spinning to the left.
* In CLP 8301 printers the printing ribbon shall be centered.
* Close the print head by pressing the green button.
* Close the printer cover.
* Turn on the device.
* Press the FEED button on the printer’s control panel to set the material to the start of a new label.
