Wax ribbons feature a low melting temperature and therefore the prints have a limited resistance to smearing and scratching. Wax ribbons are designed for printing paper labels and cardboard tags.
Wax-resin ribbons are used for printing on paper and cardboard surfaces. They guarantee an excellent print quality, both with regard to visual attractiveness and scratch resistance. Wax-resin ribbons may be used for printing foil labels, unless a permanent print is required.
Thermal transfer resin ribbons are designated for printing foil labels and tags made of plastics, such as polyethylene (PE), polyester (PET), polypropylene (PP), and polyamide vinyl (PVC). Print made with the resin ribbon is resistant to abrasion at a high temperature, and the effects of chemical agents, solvents and detergents.
The printing of textile inserts and care labels made of nylon (polyamide) taffeta, polyester taffeta, polyester satin, silk and Tyvek is performed with the use of special resin ribbons. Print executed with the textile-dedicated ribbon is resistant to washing and chemical dry cleaning and does not smear when ironed.
The printing of the manufacturing date and expiry date directly on foil packaging is executed by means of inline printing ribbons. The ribbons are designated for use with all types of flexible foil packaging, including the printed ones.
