To meet the needs of the market, in 2010, the Etisoft company has introduced into its offer the devices for automatic application of labels and print&apply devices for products’ marking directly on the production lines. We started the cooperation with Label-Aire, the largest supplier of such equipment on the U.S. market.
Today, almost every manufactured product must be properly marked and identified. Most manufacturers use the adhesive labels for that purpose. However, many of them use less effective methods of those labels’ application. This often significantly reduces the processing capacity of companies and increase the production cost of manufactured products.

If the labels are applied manually or semi-automatically (e.g. manual applicators with the sensor gaps between labels), optimization of production and savings related with it are often unattainable. Then, the best solution is the use of automatic applicators that allows you to take full advantage of technological lines.

Automatic label application methods greatly exceeds the manual and semi-automatic ones. However, it should be taken into consideration that the customer is often not aware of the limits arising from the use of traditional methods. This happens as long as the market forces the company to optimize its manufacturing process. The process of ID and marking of products is often called "bottleneck" of the entire production process.
Automatic labelling systems allow companies to apply a flexible labelling system that enables it to adapt to the constantly growing and changing market needs, without having to increase employment. In addition, the flexibility of these solutions allows to choose and adjust each machine to specific customer requirements. There is also important fact that we have the possibility of applying the labels of various sizes (maximum size of the label is selected before ordering the machine), using only one applicator or printer-applicator for this purpose.

The most important factor determining the superiority of automatic devices is the speed of which machines are able to apply the label. It is not possible to achieve it when the labels are applied manually. Speaking of speed, depending on the type of used device, we use the so-called “unwind / pass” speed. It is in case of using applicators that applies pre-printed labels which does not need to update information immediately before application on the product. For printer - applicators, due to the presence of printer in the system, we use the speed of printing, which largely determines the maximum efficiency. Maximum speed achieved by the machines we offer, are presented in Table 1 .

Another aspect in favour of automatic labels’ application is greater security of production. We are talking both, about the physical security of an employee who does not need to reside in the area of machinery, which represent a potential danger to his life and health, but also about elimination of the possibility for error or intentional sabotage.
An additional advantage of labelling machines is their high flexibility, particularly in the case of printer - applicators. Each applicator and printer - applicator is designed in such way to allow applying labels of different sizes, using the same device. Each offered device, hanging by universal mounting bracket, has a 3-axis adjustment. Thanks to this, machine settings for the specific needs of the application are very simple and quick. However, the greatest versatility and flexibility can be achieved by using a printer-applicator that in addition to the above-mentioned features and benefits has the ability to change virtually any label’s content immediately before its application on the product.
